First-ever “The State of the Dream” set for Small Business Saturday

First-ever “The State of the Dream” set for Small Business Saturday

Cap off your Small Business Saturday shopping and holiday weekend in downtown Elgin with food, beverages, networking and comedy while learning what Dream Hub has planned for the future.

Kevin Echevarria, president of Dream Hub, invites everyone beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 25 to Dream Hall at 51, 51 S. Grove Ave., Elgin.

“There is a ton of work to still in motion to launch The Dream Hub and Dream Hall. But It does seem fitting that we take this time we have in the public eye to launch a staple event we can conduct each year. The idea of ‘The State of The Dream’ was born,” Echevarria said.

The free event will include foods from Shared Dream Kitchen members, beverages from Uncorporate America Beverage Co., door prizes and end with standup comedy from local performers.

???? Anyone who arrives with receipts for food, drink or stores in Elgin will also get additional tickets for the door prizes.

There will be short presentations on all of the Dream Hub ventures.

The event venue, Dream Hall at 51, is a food hall concept planned for the former JC Penneys storefront in downtown Elgin. Once completed, Dream Hall at 51 will give new, startup restauranteurs a venue to share their concepts with fewer start-up costs.

Dream Hub also includes Shared Dream Kitchen, a food-based business incubator kitchen on the west side of Elgin, Dream KitchenEDU, an educational program for food entrepreneurs, and Dream Distributors, a farm-fresh food hub which will bring local produce to markets.

The night’s schedule includes:

• 6:30 p.m. Dream Hall doors open

• 7 to 8 p.m. Dream Hub presentations

• 8 to 9 p.m. Networking and door prizes

• 9 to 10:30 p.m. Comedians close out the night
